Biocyte spirulina comes from organic farming. It contains 60% protein, which contains nine essential amino acids, and 14% phytocyanin, a pigment with antioxidant properties.

Spirulina – a powerful superfood

Spirulina has been cultivated in world cooking for hundreds of years. Since 2005, it has been cultivated mainly in highly alkaline mineral-rich lakes. The WHO (World Health Organization) considers spirulina to be the best superfood of the century because of its high protein content and high productivity. NGOs are using spirulina extensively to fight famine, as it is so rich in nutrients, energy giving, immunity boosting, etc., and does not require special care to grow. To facilitate the consumption of spirulina, the powder is pressed into tablets.
