The best-known benefit of D-mannose is its ability to prevent urinary tract infections. It works by preventing E. coli bacteria from attaching to the walls of the urinary tract. D-mannose binds to bacteria, preventing them from sticking to the walls of the bladder and urinary tract, and helps flush them out of the body during urination.
