Hair porosity is the ability of the hair to absorb moisture. Hair porosity is related to the cuticle layer of the hair. Porous hair readily absorbs water due to a damaged, or exposed, cuticle. Hair with low porosity is considered to be very resistant and tough. They require more alkaline preparations than highly porous hair, because the alkaline preparation swells the hair and makes it easier to open the hair cuticle. Medium porosity hair is called normal and does not require any special treatment. High porosity hair is often the result of over-treatment.

Application: apply a few drops to dry or damp hair and massage into scalp. Leave on for a couple of hours, then wash. Avoid contact with eyes.
